On (my) writing II

On (my) writing I

In poems or essays, the narrative voice is neutral, those who narrate are the author`s feelings, perceptions or reflections. Writing can be approached from a gender perspective, but what we write about (whether historical events or personal experiences) becomes a stream of consciousness with the contribution of our interlocutor from the moment we share our heartfelt words or our academic opinion.

In fiction, characters have their own voice –if creators don`t master the different voives in their characters, they suffer from a serious lack or creative skill–. Hence an omniscient narrator can be a female voice fictionalized by a male authorHaving had to dedicate my presentation to society to emphasize social evidence – my gender condition does not condition my creativity – and to remember concepts of general culture – an “epilogue” is the section that closes a text, not the summary that appears in the back cover of a book – made me once again feel like a stranger among those I had sensed were my equals.

Obviously, the disagreement that accompanied my words led to me – once again – feeling alone, despite being in the company of others; and that neophytes in unequalizing me resorted to the old resource of labeling me as “pimp” – I imagine that rancidities like “cocky” and “sexist” also resonated in my absence. But I have always had ir clear that I rather being alone to being in bad company.

Thanks for your good company, kind reader.
