First Chapter
The Gospel According to Grendel (III)
The end of 1983 and the beginning of 1984 saw the birth of a new black & white collection which only lasted for three numbers. Under the generic title of «Grendel» it told the fight –and it’s tragic turn out– between ‘Hunter Rose’ and ‘Argent, The Wolf’; at the same time, it told both characters’ origin.
The first installment shows us the meeting of ‘Grendel’ and ‘Argent’ on a tiled roof, ready for what it seems their final fight. Nevertheless, instead of fighting they start talking to each other. First, ‘Hunter Rose’ unmasks himself and tells ‘The Wolf’ how he became ‘Grendel’.
The second chapter’s starting point shows us ‘Argent’ telling his origin to his foe; then there is a long flashback, which displays an event that had happened four years ago, and that will deeply mark the story development. It deals with ‘Barry Palumbo’´s death: a businessman who –apparently– was trying to mislead both ‘Argent’ and ‘Grendel’.
